In Autumn 2021 Dunvegan Community Trust Committee launched a survey to focus on ideas for projects to benefit the area, the specific challenges we face as a community, and what obstacles might need to be overcome to achieve our goals. The survey was available to complete online but we also held an open day in Dunvegan Community Hall, which was an opportunity to discuss ideas in person, and fill out paper surveys. The survey and open day also served as another opportunity for folk to express their opinions on the ongoing question of Orbost Forest, and was attended by the consultants who carried out our feasibility study. We were also joined by Catherine MacPhee from Skye and Lochalsh Archive centre in Portree, providing historical and cultural context to our modern issues.
