Application guidelines for grants

 

Eligibility criteria

Only constituted groups which operate and benefit the residents of the Dunvegan area, (as defined by the Dunvegan Community Council) will be eligible to apply.

Individuals may apply in exceptional circumstances.

Funding will only be allocated to projects which are supportive of the Dunvegan Community Trusts objectives.

 

How to apply

An application form will need to be completed, and a copy of the groups previous 2 years of accounts and a copy of their constitution.

How much can be applied for?

 

Funding Bracket (Total Project costs)  Up to (% Grant)
Up to £500 100%
£501- £2500 90%
£2501 -£10,000 80%
£10,000 – £25,000 70%
Over £25,000 50%

 

In certain circumstances the committee may award more or less than the guide above.

 

 

Deadlines for applications will be:

  • End of March
  • End of June
  • End of September
  • End of December

All groups will be notified of a decision on their application within six weeks following the deadline date.

 

Conditions of grant

The Trust can only allocate funding to constituted groups which benefit the residents of the Dunvegan Community Council area.

 

Applications will not be considered for projects that have already taken place or have been completed.

 

Small grants (up to £500)

Applicants will have to produce receipts and give a copy of their annual accounts, to demonstrate how the grant was spent.

 

Larger grants (£500 +)

Applicants will have to produce a report, receipts and a copy of their annual accounts to demonstrate how the grant was spent.

Grants over £1000 – 10% of the grant will be retained until the final report is submitted to the Trust.

All grants will have to be spent within a year unless there were unforeseen problems which has delayed the project. The Trust would need to be notified of any changes or delays.

Any monies not spent will have to be returned to the Dunvegan Trust.

 

Publicity

All applicants will have to advertise that the Dunvegan Community Trust have supported the project on any publicity that is done in co-junction with the project which was funded.

All allocated grants will also be shown on the Dunvegan Community Trust website.
